Veet ‘In Shower Hair Removal’
This is quite embarassing to say, but I am quite hairy along the leg area, which is very saddening. So my mother actually forbided me from shaving, she said ” all girls are the same there is nothing embarassing, when everyone has it”. I listened to her, but as I grew older I find it more embarassing, because all the girls around me shaved, and had like flawless legs. *sign*
So I ask my older sister, and she introduce me Veet ‘In shower hair removal’ . I must say this stuff is AMAZING!. At first she told me ‘just put it on with the sponge the, wait, and scrub it off with the other side’ I was like WHAT! no shaving, just scrubing.
This was the one I got:
This is how I use it, but if u read the package it has a more thorough instruction at the back.
- I apply it on using the coloured/pink side of the sponge
- I wait for like 4 mins and then I step into the shower
- I do my daily shower rountine normally
- When i’m up to cleaning my legs I use the WHITE side of the sponge to scrub my legs.
- Then i keep scrubing, by the time I notice it all my leg hair is gone O.O (This thing never fail to amaze me)
- Step out of the bath with, SMOOTH flawless legs :D
The white side of the sponge, which is a scrub, help exfoliate the skin, and makes it smooth and shiny. After using, my legs are as I mentioned, clear, soft, shiny and smooth (I keep touching them the whole day hehehe), i was just in shock when I stepped out of the shower, I didn’treally believed in the product, but i was proved wong.
This Product is good for people with not too much hair, just light, but if u have a lot of hair just shave.
Cons:
- The smell I bought which is Velvet rose, can’t be said as the best one, there are more smells other than this one.
- Quite pricey comparing to shaving
- Gives you a shock at first (still does, everytime I use it)
- I dont really like the idea of using the sponge over and over again, they should sell the sponges in packs seperately.
- Sometimes if not applied evenly not all your hair will be removed.
Pros:
- Makes you skin extremely smooth
- easy to apply and use
- doesn’t require much effort
Rating (*/5):
Smell: 2/5 (its too strong )
Packaging: 3/5 (Its just a squeezing tube, but better if it was a pump)
Effect: 3.5/5 (good, but if you don’t leave/apply the right amount or time, all your hair wont be removed)
Will i buy it again: Maybe (unless there is a cheaper choice. requiring no blade)
Having hairy legs while wearing a skirt or shorts is very uncomfortable, even if no one notices, you feel self conscious the whole day. So i really recommend this, if u have a fear of blades like me (I know they are safe, but I am still scared).
You can buy these again anywhere, from the supermarket to a drugstore. I bought mine at Franklins, for $12-13

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter
I am on the chubby side, and my body is badly filled with stretchmarks, and it keeps on growing. I was surfing online for methods to cure it, I found out that stretchmarks can not completely go away, but it can fade if uyou are using the right methods, if not u will have stretchy, saggy skin. On those sites people were recommending ‘Palmer’s Cocoa Butter’ so i decided to give it a try and it has been to weeks since I have tried it, I put it on twice a day, morning and night.
After 2 weeks of continuing to use it, my skin began to stop stretching, although it has not faded away, stopping it from stretching, is still a good sign that this product is acting on its words. After 2 weeks i stop using it for a whole week, and after that my skin began to stretch again.
Cons:
- It smells kind of like chocolate, but truthfully I wasn’t to fond of the smell.
- When I put it in the morning and begin my journey to school, I feel a little icky, but as the day goes on I’m more use to it.
- I bought the 250mL bottle like the one from the picture above, and I’m truthfully so fed up with the packinging. It is so hard to squeeze the cream out, when it all sinks to he bottom of the bottle, and when I am in a rush, I dont even bother. So usually I have to leave it upside down, but it tips over even if there is a little tremble. Thank God, the bigger version has a pump, which I am going to buy when this bottle finishes.
Pros:
- Stops my stretchmark within two weeks
- Softens my skin
- Feels refreshing when I put it on after bathing
- According to my friends it smells nice
Rating (*/5):
Smell: 3.5/5 (Not very nice at first, but I am starting to like it)
Packaging: 1/5 (The 250mL bottle is just horrid for me, especially when I am in a rush)
Effect: 4/5 ( Still investigating, I will do another review after I have used it for probably a month)
Whatever cream it is, you have to put it on a regular daily basis for a long period of time, for it to actually have a good effect. So u need patience, because of school I actually stopped using it for a while, but i will use it for a longer period of time.
You can buy this product anywhere in the pharmacy, chemist, drug store, woolworths, k mart/walmart etc.
I bought mine at woolworths for $8-$9 dollars.
